CONFIRMATION OF NOMINATION ACCEPTANCE
As per the email notice, you have been nominated for a potential position on RMFL’s 2026 Council. During our Banquet on January 10, 2025, we will host our Annual General Meeting, which will include an agenda item for the 2026 council election. We ask that all nominated candidates, please attend the AGM.
Before we can add your name to the election agenda at the AGM, we require your confirmation of acceptance of the nomination and some background information about yourself. In cases where there is more than one nomination for a position, we will host a vote at the AGM. The background information helps the membership get to know the candidates.
Council Positions:
If you want more information about the executive positions, please refer to the descriptions at: https://www.raidersfootball.ca/volunteer-positions
At the AGM we only finalize the members of the 2026 Council and the Executive Positions. At the first council meeting of the year, the council will then look to appoint the various volunteer positions that we need filled to plan and run our programs. These positions include Registrar, Cheer Coorindinator, Equipment Manager, etc. (all of these are also described on the above “volunteer-positions” of our website.
You are also more than welcome to reach out to our current Council members if you would like more insight into the roles or what it's like being on council.

Council Expectations:
In complete transparency, volunteering for the Council and taking on a volunteer position entails some significant commitments to ensure that we provide our membership with the best possible programs. Here are a few key commitments we ask of all council members:
Make best efforts to attend every monthly council meeting, typically held every second Monday at 7pm at the Cambie Community Centre. The schedule may occasionally change to accommodate schedule conflicts.
Represent the best interests of all members and all programs; this includes a full active participation on council for the full term (not just the season or division your child participates in)
Represent yourself and council at a higher level than what's expected of parents/volunteers as per RMFL's code of conduct. Council members are often sought out at practices, games, and performances to help new families or resolve conflicts.
Be willing to volunteer when needed. We, of course, require all of our members to volunteer, but sometimes in a crunch, we need council members to “step up” to ensure success in the moment.
Be respectful to the opinions of other council members. The differences in views, knowledge, and history among our council members are what make us succeed!
Have 110% commitment to the success and growth of Richmond Minor Football League and be a positive advocate in the football and cheer community.
Do whatever you can to support RMFL programs and it’s accessibility & positive impact on all youth in our community.
And most importantly, HAVE FUN !
